Shortbread Cookies

Shortbread is an English biscuit. It is made of the most simple ingredients but it tastes great. The only important thing to remember while making shortbread is that the butter should be at the room temperature, meaning really soft.

Here is what you will need:

Ingredients:

- 250 gr Butter very soft
- 130 gr Sugar
  350 gr white flour
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tsp of Vanilla sugar/few drops vanilla/ vanilla from half vanilla stick

Method:

1.Take butter and sugar in a big bowl and beat it until very light and fluffy. You can either use your electric beater or even a wooden spoon works best. This might take about 4-5 minutes.
2. Sieve the flour, salt and vanilla essence in the butter sugar mixture and mix properly and knead it into a nice dough.
3. If the dough is very sticky keep form it into two long sausage kind of rolls and keep it in the fridge for about 10 minutes covered in a cling film.
4. Take out the dough and cut them about 2 cm thick  and press slightly between the palm of your hand.
5. Preheat the oven at 175°.
6.  Line the baking tray with baking paper, arrange the cookies on it, leaving a bit space for them to grow.
7. Bake the cookies for about 8-10 minutes.
8. Take them out and let them cool for about a minute before taking it out from the tray.
9. Enjoy.
